Big Brothers Big Sisters

One of Enova’s most established volunteer programs is Big Brothers Big Sisters. This on-site mentoring program helps children in need reach their full potential through providing one-to-one support from an Enova employee. Enova’s “bigs” meet with their “littles” every other Wednesday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the Enova offices. The goal of the program is to provide positive modeling and interaction between adults and children that leads to a measurable impact on these children’s school and lifetime success. Enova makes an annual monetary contribution to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago in hopes to make a difference in the lives of many of Chicago’s youth.

Illinois Education Foundation

Enova currently sponsors the Illinois Education Foundation (IEF) in support of broadening the opportunities available for Illinois community college students who come from low-income households but who have high academic potential. Each year Enova sponsors 5 student scholarships through an annual monetary contribution. The program provides students with academic, professional, personal and financial support through academic advising, tutoring, and mentoring, encouraging their success in the classroom and beyond. By providing last-dollar scholarships and student support services, students are encouraged to reach their full potential in school, in work, and in life.

Junior Achievement

Enova’s partnership with Junior Achievement gives our employees an opportunity to take an active role in preparing Chicago youth for the future by volunteering to teach local high school students about financial literacy, the importance of staying in school and how to prepare for the workforce. Our volunteers have taught courses to high school students on-site at Robert Morris University, facilitating a series of fun, hands-on activities that integrate real-life business experience into student curriculum. JA is a non-profit youth organization dedicated to educating kids about important financial skills that will help them become economically empowered.

HFS Chicago Scholars

HFS provides partial high school scholarships to academically motivated yet economically disadvantaged young adults. An important part of the program is providing students with a mentor to support them throughout their high school career. Adam McElhinney, head of Business Analytics at Enova, is a director on the Junior Board of HFS Chicago Scholars. A number of employees at Enova have joined Adam’s efforts in volunteering for HFS, dedicating their own time to mentoring kids and helping them unlock their full potential.

Vital Bridges

Vital Bridges Center on Chronic Care, another organization that some Enova employees are involved in outside of work, helps those impacted by HIV and AIDS in metropolitan Chicago. Vital Bridges aims to improve the health of people currently living with the virus, helping to build self-sufficiency by providing food, housing, and prevention services. Joanna Burgraf and Marvin Street, both Enova employees, are members of the Vital Bridges’ Junior Networking Committee. In their spare time, they help to expand awareness about Vital Bridges and its mission to a younger and more diverse demographic.

Intern Food Drive

Enova interns also have the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer work. During the summers, our interns and employees have visited the Chicago police department weekly food drive through the MGR Foundation, a not-for-profit organization committed to creating productive, hands-on events that directly impact communities. During the food drive, Enova volunteers interact with patrons, sort food and pack bags of groceries to be given to individuals. It’s a great way for our interns to contribute to our volunteer initiative, helping connect those in need with resources, friendship and food.

Fred Lee has been promoted to Senior Director of Information Technology of Chicago-based Enova, leading the Internet financial service company’s technology team and mapping long-term strategy.

“Fred has played a critical role in our success helping to build and manage the technology platform necessary to meet our global customers’ request for accessible and convenient lending,” says Tim Ho, president of the Enova. “His leadership will help us meet the opportunities ahead and build an increasingly competent technology team here in Chicago.”

Through its online lending business CashNetUSA, Enova provides reliable, real-time financial options for everyday, hardworking people facing immediate cash demands. The Chicago-based online subsidiary of Cash America International, Inc. (NYSE: CSH) employs 825+ team members and has served more than 1.6 million customers in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

Lee, 37, joined Enova in 2008 to serve as Senior Development Manager. His most recent role included heading up a product development team where he was responsible for determining functional requirements and implementation specifications.

Prior to joining Enova, Lee served as Director of Web Strategy at Vail Systems, developing web-based services and products to create new revenue opportunities. Previously, Lee served as Digital Development Manager at the Indianapolis Star.

Lee received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.

Keith Weinberger has been promoted from Director of Marketing of Chicago-based Enova to General Manager, U.S. Lending, to run its U.S. business.

“Keith’s thorough knowledge of our customers’ needs and lifestyles will accelerate our efforts to provide them with increasingly accessible and convenient lending options,” says Tim Ho, President of Enova.

Through its online lending business CashNetUSA, Enova provides reliable, real-time financial options for everyday, hardworking people facing short-term cash demands. The Chicago-based E-Commerce division of Cash America International, Inc. (NYSE: CSH) employs 850 team members and has served more than 1.6 million customers in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

Weinberger, 39, joined Enova in 2009 to serve as Marketing Director of International Lending. He then took on leadership of the Marketing function and led the launch of Gold Promise, a mail-in gold and jewelry buying business, serving as President of the business.

Prior to joining Enova, Keith served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for The Heat Group, a cosmetics company that managed the Australian business of well-known global brands, including Cover Girl, Bourjois and Max Factor. Previously, Keith worked for Castrol in the U.K. and the U.S. where he was Global Marketing Director for Castrol GTX. He began his career at Procter & Gamble in the U.S., working for his nine years at P&G primarily in the Fabric and Home Care and Beauty Care divisions.

Keith received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and an MBA with Honors, focused on marketing, at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
