Reports to: Lead UI Engineer

This person will be part of the development team; designing and implementing user interfaces for open-source and proprietary web applications

Responsibilities

• Overseeing, project managing, and supporting technical execution of multivariate testing programs for key websites
• Ability to work effectively with non-technical personnel, including Digital Marketing and the Creative department
• Writing front-end (table less) code in Ruby, XHTML/CSS, and JavaScript
• To identify, create, and implement radiant/functional UI design
• Implement new features and optimize existing ones
• Understanding of browser compatibility issues that currently exist on the web today

Required Qualifications:

• Project Management expertise
• Experience using multivariate testing tools, ideally Google Website Optimizer, to improve site conversions and consumer usability
• Fluent in Web Standards for XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM-Scripting is required.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required
• Development in Ruby on Rails and/or other Open Source technologies preferred. (Given that Ruby on Rails is rather new, extensive experience developing web applications in other languages can be substituted as long as a strong desire to work in Ruby exists.)
• Experience with Linux/Unix is required
• Up to date knowledge of Semantic markup, progressive enhancement, graceful degradation, and web accessibility
• Proof of relevant experience; portfolios, web page links, work examples are strongly encouraged
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
