Reports to: Senior Manager of Technology

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will work in a team environment building and supporting infrastructure for complex web applications
  • Involved in setting architectural direction and responsible for implementing parts of system projects
  • Lead projects independently while working with other members of the team to ensure its success
  • Implement server and server cluster best practices such as security, OS patching, networking, code deployment, and configuration management
  • Recognize and recommend new equipment to solve needs and perform the necessary stress testing of the recommended equipment
  • Plan and execute large scale projects
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve complex problems
  • Provide mentoring for other team members
  • Maintain a private cloud in a fast paced environment
  • Provide tier 2 support to Operations in a 24×7 on call environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5 + years of Unix systems administration, Unix Shell scripting and the Unix command line
  • 5+ years in Linux systems administration in a production environment
  • Experience in a high availability, scalable environment with large data volumes at multiple locations
  • Experience implementing and maintaining a managed production environment
  • Strong understanding of networking, including but not limited to, routing, VLAN, VPNs and TCP/IP
  • Experience in web development technologies, tools and protocols, such as HTTP and HTTPS
  • Bash, Perl, SH, Ruby and Python scripting
  • Knowledge of SNMP
  • Additional experience considered a plus: Asterisk or VOIP; iSCSI, SMTP, DNS and related tools; PostgreSQL or other relational databases
