Reports to: Manager, Development

We are looking for an individual who will be fairly independent and not require a high level of assistance. You will be working with our database architect and several seasoned postgreSQL veterans, as well as our rails developers. We’re looking for someone to work hands-on with database code; tables, views, functions, rules, etc. We do have some complex reporting queries, but our BI group largely handles that work. It will be important for you to be able to take on a project independently and ensure its success. Our production environment and toolset are based entirely on Linux. You don’t need to be a UNIX administrator, but you should know the difference between cat and awk. We would prefer someone in Chicago, but would consider other options.
